The widespread use of digital technology is changing the economic landscape as radically as electricity and railways transformed industry in the 19th century. Digital technologies have become the backbone of every organization. To make good use of them, information systems (IS) are put in place to support the organization's operational and strategic objectives. This course therefore allows students to familiarize themselves with the three structuring characteristics of IS, namely information, organization, and technology, and its practical application in business.
