The objective of the course “Solid mechanics applied to biology” is to enable students to be familiar with the concepts of solid mechanics and their extension to biological systems.
The course contains an introduction/recall to linear mechanics and to non-linear mechanics. It introduces the students to the effect of the microstructure and to the concepts of growth and remodeling in biology.
Assessment: Oral presentation of a scientific article and report on the lab (50% each)
