This course is designed to provide clinicians (students or not) with a basic understanding of continuum mechanics. By the end of the course, participants will be able to read and understand the approach and hypotheses of a biomechanics article, as well as the main results.
The course includes :
- a presentation of the kinematics of solids, then to stresses, as well as the equilibrium problem in mechanics (boundary conditions, local equilibrium), in small deformations.
- an introduction to large deformations.
- a presentation of behavior laws, in small deformations and large transformations.
- familiarization with mechanical testing
- a presentation of current growth and remodeling models.
Assessment will be based on an oral presentation of a biomechanics article.
Lecture will be in French, except if there is a non-french speaking person in the lecture.
