Internships in this option mainly focus on the field of organic synthesis at the interface with other disciplines, particularly biology and health sciences. Their aim is to develop experimental laboratory skills in chemistry, in either an academic or an industrial context. They may also extend to other areas of chemistry, notably theoretical chemistry and its applications, or organic materials. The research fields are broad, ranging from fundamental research (synthetic methodologies, total synthesis, medicinal chemistry, etc.) to pharmaceutical, agrochemical, cosmetic and fragrance research, as well as green chemistry aimed at improving synthetic routes or processes to meet environmental requirements.
This very broad field offers numerous opportunities for research internships. The proposed internships may be carried out either in laboratories at École Polytechnique or in other academic or industrial laboratories, in France or abroad.
Examples of projects carried out at the X Research Center:
-
Total synthesis of natural products
-
Photoactivatable probes for biology
-
New radical reactions
-
Cycloadditions catalyzed by palladium complexes
-
Ligands for organometallic catalysis and coordination chemistry
-
