This course introduces key concepts in the field of “Law & Finance”, understood here as the study of how business law (broadly understood) affects the economic and financial system, which in turn impacts companies’ ability to obtain funding, their governance, and investors’ decision-making.

The focus on this class is not on technical aspects of business law. Rather, it bridges theoretical and practical considerations by providing students with a critical understanding of how the law is designed and enforced and its implications for private actors’ behaviour and strategies.

The course consists of a mix of seminars presenting theoretical concepts and case studies stressing their practical implications.
