The Model NATO class is taken instead of “normal” P1+P2 English courses.
In this class, we’ll learn about the history of NATO and the strategy of its members. We’ll use this knowledge as the basis for participating in exercises meant to improve public speaking and debating skills, negotiations, lobbying, awareness of group dynamics, and geopolitics.
We will also take part in an event in a foreign city (TBD: options include UK, Berlin, Brussels or Rome), travel there as a delegation, spend a few days in an international environment experiencing negotiations as you represent a country in a NATO simulation, and attend social events!
This course is for highly motivated C1, or C2 level students. The workload is not tremendous, and is largely handled in-class, but you will need to do some reading on your own time. (Groups of 4 students will be assigned 100 pages every month).
