The QFT3 course will discuss some more advanced topics in Quantum Field Theory:

  • Effective field theories
  • Quantum anomalies
  • Extended field configurations (monopoles, instantons)
  • Modern tools for amplitudes (color ordering, spinor-helicity formalism, BCFW recursion)
  • Lattice field theory
  • Quantum field theory at finite temperature
  • Strong fields and semi-classical methods
  • Loop integral reduction and generalized unitarity cuts

Course schedule:  the QFT3 course will be held on fridays @ 10:15-12:15 and 13:30-15:30,

  • december 11, 18
  • january 8, 15, 22, 29
  • february 5, 12

 

Evaluation: each student should choose an article in a list provided by me, study this article at home, and prepare a 20 minutes presentation to expose the contents of the article.

These oral presentations will be held on friday March 5.
