This course will focus on the synthesis of medicinally relevant compounds and drugs. It will be based on relevant case studies in the domain. Main lectures will cover synthetic strategies (retrosynthetic analysis), asymmetric synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry, radical chemistry, polar organometallic intermediates, as well as metal-based catalysis or organocatalysis. An introduction to agrochemistry will also be featured.
