Enrolment options

This module is aimed at students who are particularly motivated by research, giving them access to a laboratory where they can come and work whenever they want, under the responsibility of a tutor and subject to the agreement of the unit director. All the research centre's areas of expertise in chemistry are involved: materials science, organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, coordination chemistry, analytical chemistry and theoretical chemistry. The subjects cover a wide range of topics, including energy, the environment, innovative materials, chemistry and health, quantum technologies, molecular chemistry, catalysis, etc.

Below are a few rules concerning the organisation of these projects:

  • Students can only validate this module if they have found themselves a tutor within the laboratories (chemistry department site) and after validation by the module leaders and the unit director, who will set the access rules.
  • The module may be chosen in period 1, in period 2, or in both periods. In the latter case, the subject may be the same or different in the two periods.
  • The module replaces the PREX experimental project modules (CHI571 in P1 and CHI572 in P2). The module is assessed during the 1/2 scientific day with an oral presentation of the work carried out during the research project.
  • Compared with PREX, the module requires a significantly greater investment, at the tutor's discretion, but at least the equivalent of 6 extra hours per week in addition to the half-day on Tuesdays dedicated to PREX, possibly spread over the whole week.
