This internship option aims to provide you with a laboratory experience in chemistry with a more or less developed biological interface. Chemistry is indeed closely linked to advances in the life sciences, from medicine to agriculture. While drugs are often cited as examples of how small molecules are used to treat or control living organisms, one should not overlook the importance of macromolecular objects and materials, particularly in the development or formulation of diagnostic probes. The practice of chemistry thus encompasses all of these aspects, serving the well-being of humans, animals, and plants. Internships in this option may address various facets of the chemistry-biology interface, but will be more specifically focused on organic synthesis.
Examples of internships : Internships can occur in France or abroad, in an academic of industrial context.
- In the research center of École polytechnique (LSO, LCM, LPMC, BIOC...)
- In other academic institutions
- In industrial R&D companies in France (Sanofi, Servier, Bayer, Saint Gobain...)
- In foreign universities
- In industrial R&D companies abroad (Novartis, Bayer, Saint-Gobain, in USA, Europe or Asia...)
- In start-ups in the frame of early development projects.
